In collaboration with House of Chappaz and in the context of the exhibition ‘Contact/Together again, poetic politics of HIV’ during the Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2021, we presented Fito Conesa’s research. His work ‘En barbecho’ embraces the history and sorrow of the HIV pandemic to propose different ways of understanding the failed politics around it. The film shows a man singing a song in urdu, a text that the artist wrote to transmit an important message.
House of Chappaz is a space inspired by the Voguing houses, safe places for queer communities that were born in New York between the end of the 70s and the middle of the 80s for those that had been rejected by society.
